Steve Robinson, Chick-fil-A's chief marketing officer said in the announcement of the breakfast giveaway on the company’s website, "The breakfast day part continues to be a tremendous growth opportunity for Chick-fil-A. We have steadily focused on maximizing the breakfast day part with a variety of menu enhancements and promotions over the past several years, and we hope our 'Breakfast on Us' promotion will encourage our current customers to try something completely different and also help attract new breakfast customers for us."
Chick-fil-A has more than 1,735 restaurants in 39 states as well as Washington, D.C. It was founded by Truett Cathy in 1946 in Hapeville, Georgia. Today the restaurant chain produced sales of $4.6 billion in 2012, and was recognized in 2013 by Forbes Magazine as one of the nation’s “Most Inspiring Companies” and “Most Popular Large Chain” by Zagat Survey.
According to its website, Chick-fil-A, Inc.’s corporate purpose is “to glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to us. To have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chick-fil-A.” Since its founding, the company has chosen to remain closed on Sundays for “practical and spiritual” reasons. Cathy believes that all franchised Chick-fil-A operators and restaurant employees should have an opportunity to rest, spend time with family and friends, and worship if they choose to do so.
There will be more such giveaways from Chick-fil-A, so keep your eyes out.
"Customers have learned they better participate sooner rather than later," Baldwin said. "The early bird gets the chicken."
