First-generation Chinese Christians are not the only ones commemorating the 200th anniversary for Robert Morrison's pioneering China mission, a mission mobilization organization for second-generation Chinese suggested.
The second-generation mission ministry of the California-based Gospel Operation International (2G Mission Ministry) has recently launched an international Chinese Sunday School children’s drawing competition with an aim to raise the young heart’s interest for world mission.
Second-generation Chinese must also learn about the history of China’s mission and inherit the passion from their ancestors, 2G Mission Ministry introduced. Through this competition, the ministry wishes to see Chinese Sunday School children worldwide to learn about missions, so that they can carry on the baton for this new era.
The competition is divided into three groups: group A for children aged under 6, group C for junior elementary school students from grade 1 to 3, group C for senior elementary school students from grade 4 to 6. Candidates must choose one of the four topics, "Story about Mission or Missionary", "How to Pray for China", "How should Chinese share the Gospel with the World" and "Biblical Episode of Evangelism".
The prizes will be mission support funds for the missionaries dispatched by the winners’ church. The Champion will receive $150 USD ($1,000 HKD) mission support funds as well as one-year free Sunday School resources published by China Sunday School Association. The first runner-up and second runner-up will also receive $75 USD ($500 HKD) mission support funds as well as one-year free Sunday School resources published by China Sunday School Association.
Interested candidates may submit their entries through their Sunday School teachers or pastors. Entries should be submitted in high-resolution jpeg/gif format by photographing with digital cameras or scanned with computer scanners. The email address is [email protected] Each candidate is allowed to submit a maximum of three entries. The competition has been kicked off in July 2007 and will last until September 2008. The result of the competition will be released in October 2008.
