It has been a busy month for South Korean phone manufacturer Samsung for its Android Lollipop updates. Since launching the Android 5.0 Lollipop for its Samsung Galaxy 5 in late 2014, the company has rolled out all its flagship smartphones running on Google's mobile operating system, including the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Note Edge.

Since early this month, the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop has been in full swing for Samsung Galaxy S6, S5, S4, Note 4, Note 3 and possibly Note 2, reported IBTimes. The Galaxy S6 and S6 both feature upgraded new camera that allows new exposure control to users, as well as lower ISO values and shooting images in RAW format.

The Galaxy S5 and S6 now sport uncluttered Notifications Menu, can disable the S Finder and Quick Connect at the Quick Settings and Motion Effect for the home screen wallpaper.

The report added that Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will roll out the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop by the end of July this year. The Galaxy Note 4 running on Android 5.1.1 will have the same upgraded camera app for Galaxy S5 and S6 that feature enhanced exposure control and lower ISO.

In April, Google and Samsung announced that the Android 5.1 update would be rolled out for Samsung Galaxy S4 for the Google Play Edition (GPE) version of the smartphone said SamMobile.  Ironically, the Samsung Galaxy S4 GPE was the first GPE smartphone to run on Android 5.0 Lollipop but it will be the last GPE device to receive the Android 5.1 Lollipop update. The other GPE devices were updated by Google two weeks earlier.

However, the web site has not confirmed the exact release date the Android 5.1 Lollipop on Samsung Galaxy S4 GPE but said Google is ready to roll out any time. GottaBeMobile hinted the Android 5.1 Lollipop would be the last upgrade for the two-year-old Samsung Galaxy S4. Google usually updates devices between 18 and 24 months before stopping all update.

Another report by SamMobile claimed that Samsung is working with Google to roll out an Android 5.1 Lollipop update for the Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy Grand Prime. However the web site, which has inside information on such matters, said Samsung has not yet officially confirmed the information, but added they have inside information.

Google's Android 5.1 update features new bug fixes and as well as several tweaks that makes it attractive for Samsung to use Android 5.1 to fix lingering problems and add some of the same features.
