There was a time when even the mafia had a fear of God. Thom Miller, a 60-year-old former mafia member who claims to be a minister, has two wives. The first is 44-year-old Belinda, and more recently, 19-year-old Reba. Reba is pregnant with their child. The trio lives in Mansfield, Ohio.
Belinda doesn't seem to have a problem with having another woman in the picture -- even that woman is young enough to be her daughter. Reba admits that she isn't crazy about the older woman in Thom's life, but likes the idea of her child having two moms. Miller is working on having a house built in Ohio that has a separate wing for each wife. He has made it known to them that he is to be their sole husband. He has put the two wives on a three-night rotation respectively.
Miller claims to have found a higher power while in prison. Though he says he doesn't preach about polygamy, his confused mind seems to think it is a type of "Christian lifestyle." He runs a prison ministry and supposedly has a church.
Belinda and Thom started talking about the possibility for polygamy just after their wedding seven years ago. Thom didn't actually act on that notion until meeting 19-year-old Reba, whom he claims he has known for a few years. Reba's family moved away for a time and then Reba returned to the area. She and Thom and Belinda met again in a soup kitchen. Reba moved in with them shortly afterward.
Reba's family and friends weren't initially happy with the arrangement, but since Reba claims that she is happy, she says she now has the support of her family and friends.
Thom says that the situation works for all three of them. However, he does not have the full support of his congregation.
Thom said that, "I have no problem with homosexuals, but I think it's wrong that their marriage is now recognized by the state but my second marriage is not."
Many have blatantly said that the same-sex ruling is unconstitutional, and that it is a part of NOW's agenda, which will further erode the stability of America as a nation from a social and economic standpoint.
If what Thom is doing is the beginning of the next attack on the sanctity of Biblical marriage, then one has to wonder how far away America is from men wanting to marry a dog, women wanting to marry a snake, or people wanting to marry trees. There is a great deal that has already happened in America that most thought never would. It's naive to continue thinking that such things can't happen here.
