A week after the Fourth of July celebrations, the cast and crew members of ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ continue the filming of the highly-anticipated Marvel movie.
Director Taika Waititi shared a photo on Twitter, showing several chairs to be used on the set. The post also suggested that the ‘Thor 3’ production team had a fruitful first day.
"Pretty sweet 1st day," Waititi tweeted. "Look at all these people who turned up to work. #Blessed #support."
Looking at the names assigned to the chairs, it seems that executive producers Tom Hammel (‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes,’ ‘Night of the Museum’) and Brad Winderbaum (‘Ant-Man,’ ‘Iron Man 3’) were present along with writer Eric Pearson, to name a few.
The tweet came as a reply to ‘Ant-Man’ helmer Peyton Reed, who sent his congratulatory message to Waititi on their first day of filming the third ‘Thor’ movie.
"Congrats to @TaikaWaititi and @bradwinderbaum on Day 1 of principal photography on THOR: RAGNAROK! (Taika, remember: explosions!) #Mjolnir," Reed tweeted.
In a report from Collider, the ‘Thor: Ragnarok 3’ filming is being carried out in Australia and is expected to be “the best one yet” in the ‘Thor’ franchise.
Aside from the New Zealand director, the film’s star, Chris Hemsworth, also took to a social media site and shared a video announcement from their set. Although the video did not reveal details about the upcoming movie, the clip has been enough to excite the actor’s followers.
Pre-production for ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ began in Queensland in January as Marvel instantaneously announced their plans to shoot in various locations within the area, such as Gold Coast’s Village Roadshow Studios.
While there has been scarce information about the actual storyline, the characters have already provided fans with an idea of what is to come in the new sequel.
Oscar-winning actress Cate Blanchett will play the part of Hela, who is known as the Asgardian Goddess of Death in the Marvel comics. Hela is the rule of Hel and looks over the souls who are not allowed to enter Valhalla.
Other new additions to the ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ cast include Tessa Thompson, who is set to take on the role of a skilled warrior named Valkyrie. Although she remains a mortal being, the extent of her powers and abilities go further than those of humans.
Karl Urban, who also stars in the upcoming ‘Star Trek Beyond,’ will play the villainous character Skurge, who acts as an ally of longtime baddie Loki, portrayed by Tom Hiddleston.
The Grandmaster will be played by Jeff Goldblum, who recently starred in ‘Independence Day: Resurgence.’ Among comic book fans, Goldblum’s character is one of the oldest beings known to have existed.
Along with Hemsworth and Hiddleston, other cast members who are set to return include Idris Elba and Anthony Hopkins, reprising their roles as Heimdall and Odin, respectively. Mark Ruffalo is also set to play
