LG V20, the world's first Android 7.0 Nougat smartphone in the world is ready to rock and roll this September 29 in South Korea followed by a US release a few weeks later.

The LG V20 is all set for a release in South Korea this September 29, and with that, we have also received word on US release dates for mobile carriers such as T-Mobile, Sprint and Verizon. The LG V20, being the first Android 7.0 Nougat-powered smartphone is also the second flagship smartphone from LG to be revealed this year. It wll continue from where the LG V10 left off last year, and be an alternative to the modular capable LG G5 which was launched earlier this year.

Evan Blass, the popular tipster who has had far more hits than misses, claims that the LG V20 will be rolling out in the US this October 21st, which is set to have the Android 7.0 Nougat-powered LG V20 pit itself against the Galaxy Note 7’s relaunch. Now that would be quite a fight, don’t you think so?

The LG V20 was launched at a San Francisco event earlier this September, and it will arrive on store shelves at South Korea this September 29. It will be a matter of a few more weeks before buyers in the US will be able to get their hands on the LG V20 from the likes of Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile. As for the rest of the world, they will just have to wait until the end of the year -- hopefully before the holiday season kicks off.

T-Mobile and Sprint has gone ahead to list the LG V20 as “Coming Soon”, and with “soon” being the operative keyword here, we cannot help but speculate that it will not be too long after September comes to a close. Perhaps late October might be a more realistic date for LG V20 North American fans.

In terms of hardware specifications, the LG V20 is a multimedia powerhouse that also sports a tough exterior, allowing you to put it through more than the usual amount of punishment without emerging worse for the ear. We are talking about a 5.7-inch screen with a 2560 x 1440 pixels display resolution. There is also the now-trademark IPS Quantum display located at the top of the device, with 160 x 1040 resolution at 513ppi pixel density. It will have a 50% larger font compared to its predecessor the LG V10, with double the amount of brightness.

It will run on Qualcomm’s top-notch Snapdragon 820 processor, and mated to 4GB of RAM. There will be dual cameras at the back, similar to what the LG G5 sports, allowing you to capture wide-angle shots as and when required.

Not only that, the multimedia aspect of the LG V20 is well known by now even in production units, where its microphones are able to record even the loudest of rock concerts without sacrificing on quality in 24-bit/192kHZ FLAC audio. The quartet of DACs allows it to deliver an enviable performance when you pair up the Nougat-powered LG V20 to studio-quality high impedance headphones.

All in all, the LG V20 has been rumored to arrive with an $800 price tag for an unlocked device, which places it on par with the other high-end smartphones in the market.
