The season 11 of the hit CBS series would dwell on romantic relationship of our beloved characters. The Season 10's cliffhanger raises the possibility of Sheldon and Amy Wedding. Will Amy say yes? or she will be disappointed by the fact that Sheldon proposed after he kissed another woman? Also, there are rumors that Penny and Leonard's relationship will end in a divorce in the upcoming season. Let's find out.
In the last episode, Amy left Sheldon's apartment to teach at Princeton for three months. Amy's decision left Sheldon alone in the apartment that they shared for many seasons. Alone in his room, Sheldon began spending time with his former admirer, Ramona Nowitzki. When Sheldon asked her if she's still interested in him, Ramona answered by kissing him on the lips.
Shocked, Sheldon went to Amy's apartment. When Amy opened the door, she found Sheldon on a knee to propose. It is interesting to see Amy's reaction to the wedding proposal, but we haven't heard her response. However, many viewers believe a wedding will happen next season.
Executive producer Steve Molaro is tight-lipped about Sheldon and Amy wedding rumors, but he says the writers are not planning too far ahead. In an interview with Hollywood Reported, he points out: "it helps keep things exciting and organic. But time will tell."
Furthermore, Big Big Theory writers don't talk about the wedding extensively. They treat Sheldon and Amy's affair as a "slow-moving relationship."Interestingly, Molaro was quoted saying "wedding dates are movable." Therefore, they might already have a wedding ceremony episode in mind but don't want to disclose to the viewers.
Leonard and Penny Divorce
In the last episode of Season 10, Sheldon and Raj repeatedly teases Leonard and Penny to call it quits since they are not compatible with each other. Penny is seen as the representation of "dumb blond" in the series, while Leonard is seen as a nerdy guy with a great interest in science.
However, Molaro said a divorce between Penny and Leonard is too far-fetched. He emphasized that it is natural for husband and wife to have ups and downs in their relationship.
Leonard and Penny have different personalities but they complement each other. Also, they have learned to grow and improve together over the years. "They've helped each other grow and filled needs for each other," the executive producer said in an interview with Glamour.
